Clint Carney is a Los Angeles-based artist working across music, painting, film, and writing. The through line is a fascination with the dark, the surreal, and the emotionally raw — whether that takes the form of an oil painting, a dark synthpop album, or a horror film.
Clint founded System Syn in 1997, releasing the first album in 2004. The dark synthpop music project has since released ten full-length albums, toured internationally, and cultivated a dedicated global fanbase. The music is dark, atmospheric, and deeply personal — a sonic counterpart to his visual work.
As a visual artist, Clint creates bold, emotionally charged oil paintings that have been featured in galleries, magazine covers, fashion lines, and album artwork. His work has also appeared on screen — he's created artwork and props for directors including J.J. Abrams (Star Trek Into Darkness), David Fincher (Gone Girl), Oliver Stone (Savages), Wes Craven (Scream 4), and Cameron Crowe (We Bought a Zoo).
In recent years, Clint expanded into filmmaking — writing, producing, and starring in the surreal horror feature Dry Blood, which earned over 30 festival awards and was distributed by Dread / Epic Pictures. He continues to work in VFX, post-production, directing, producing and acting in the film industry.
